Fast Company Staff Writer Nate Berg discussing the National Civic Art Society
Fast Comany magazine published a video surveying the National Civic Art Society’s success in promoting classicism in federal architecture—including President Trump’s revolutionary Executive Orders on the subject.
Although its title is clickbait, the video itself is mostly fair. Amusingly, staff writer Nate Berg suggests that NCAS is wrong about Brutalism, a style he says architects like, while showing photos of hideous Brutalist government buildings that prove our point.
He also points out that the recent Executive Order overturns the 1962 Guiding Principles for Federal Architecture, which dictated that “Design must flow from the architectural profession to teh Government, and not vice versa.”
Last year, the same journalist published an article on NCAS president Justin Shubow titled, “Meet the Mastermind Behind Trump’s War on Modern Architecture.”
